These may answer a few questions you have about the TCR UK Championship. If your question isn’t answered below please contact us.
Q. What cars can compete in TCR UK?
A. The TCR concept means that the same cars can compete in National, Regional, International and Endurance races around the world, so teams can buy and run any homologated TCR cars from brands including Audi, Honda, Hyundai, Peugeot, SEAT and Volkswagen. Those same cars can be used in other series including TCR Europe and the FIA World Touring Car Cup (WTCR).
Q. What is the format of a race weekend?
A. Apart from Oulton Park (where everything will happen on the Saturday), there will be a 30-minute Free Practice Session and a 30-minute Qualifying on the Saturday of a race weekend, with two 30-minute races on the Sunday.
Q. How can I watch the races?
A. Either in person at the track or alternately, the races will all be streamed live on Facebook, YouTube and the TCR Hub (there’s a link to the Hub at the top of the page), plus there will be live coverage on Front Runner TV and highlights on Motorsport TV, Sky Sports and Motor Trend On Demand.
Q. What are the Technical Regulations?
A. The full regulations can be viewed by clicking on the ‘Regulations’ drop-down menu at the top of the page, but basically the cars are all front-wheel drive C-Segment hatchbacks or saloons, powered by production–based two-litre turbocharged petrol engines that emit around 350bhp through a six-speed sequential transmission.
