Both of the Renault Mégane entries for this weekend’s race meeting at Donington Park have been withdrawn following a technical issue that arose after a test at Hockenheim last weekend.
The two Vuković Motorsport cars had been entered for Alex Morgan and an un-named second driver but both will now miss the final event of the 2018 TCR UK season. It’s believed that the issue is unrelated to the test itself.
Vuković Motorsport stated: “Following a suspension test at Hockenheim last weekend, the data showed an issue. This required some work to be done to the car, which realistically could not be completed in time for the Donington race weekend. Whilst it is unfortunate that we couldn’t make the race to display the pace of the car, the decision is the correct one in the circumstances.”
Alex Morgan added: “As a driver, I always want to be in the car racing and, whilst it would have been great to do so at Donington, we need to do what is in the best interest of the project. My involvement with the Mégane TCR project throughout the year has been extremely rewarding as I’ve seen first hand how quickly the car has developed, especially since Brands Hatch. We’ll be out racing again very soon to showcase the car’s pace which I’m naturally looking forward to.”
